Why people buy hybrid car?

Hybrid car is expensive to come buy. Toyota’s Prius car, one of the hottest items in 2007, sold for close to a million dollars each. But the price tag did not stop people from buying the car. And most of them, they are guided by the following reasons:

One, they have more fun with less gas. Hybrid car does not depend on gas alone to travel. Using alternative source of energy, like mixing gasoline with ethanol (which is a plant-extract), adds to the efficiency of the car. Moreover it also makes the car not consume and rely on gasoline, whose price has gone on skyrocketing increase for the past ten years.

Two, it is more environmentally-friendly than other models. It is designed and distributed in order to minimize the effects of global warming. It does this by combining gasoline with other cleaner alternatives like ethanol. The exhaust gases therefore will not constitute mostly of gasoline’s by-products, like carbon and nitrogen oxide.

Lastly, owners are hopping on the trend of using hybrid car. As calls for a cleaner air and greener environment have been mounting the past few decades, car owners are more than willing to pay the price to be trendy.

Ford Fusion Hybrid, Style and Efficiency

Ford is one of the pioneering car companies that have been around for years. It has proved to manufacture cars that are specially designed to meet the user’s needs and much more.

What are the sources of power for hybrid car?

A hybrid car is a vehicle that does not depend on gasoline solely for its energy. Models from Toyota, Nissan, and Chrysler have competitively incorporating novel ideas on powering vehicles without using petroleum and other fossil fuels. Below are some designs that have been prominent in the design of a hybrid vehicle.

1.Electricity. The car carries a battery pack that powers it to move. In an ordinary car, the battery only powers the on-board electronic gadgets like radio equipment, phones, and lights. The hybrid car on the other hand the battery produces energy enough to independently move the vehicle.

2.Gases. Gases such as hydrogen and natural gas are now being routinely produced and distributed for vehicles. Hydrogen in particular can be processed in such a way that the engine’s exhaust will be made up of water droplets. Natural gas is sometimes called methane (CH4). It is flammable and when burned, it produces carbon dioxide and water.

3.A hybrid car can also take advantage of renewable sources of energy. For instances, there are now prototypes that use energy harnessed from wind and sunlight. Solar cells and rotors can be installed in the vehicle to produce electricity, which then powers the car.

Its is really worth noting that these power sources will somehow lessens our dependency with foreign fuel. Likewise, the advantage of using renewable energy sources is what makes hybrid cars the car of the future.

Types of Hybrid Car

The development of a good, environmentally-friendly hybrid car is far from conclusive. There are many prototypes and engine models in the automobile market right now that are constantly being reinvented.

This does not only speak about the competition, but also of ingenuity among researchers and mechanical developers in meeting the challenges of a cleaner environment.

To give you more idea, here at www.hybridelecticcarz.com we listed the types of hybrid cars as follows:

1.) Plug-in is a vehicle that can run on electricity alone on shorter distances, and petrol for longer distances. This is good for people who want to minimize emissions while on the road.

2.) Electric assist is a vehicle that powers the engine when the car is running uphill or on sudden acceleration. Honda Insight is a good example. It is claimed that up to 15% fuel consumption can be saved as against regular car models.

3.) Series hybrid consists of an internal combustion engine powering an electric motor. Unlike in conventional cars, combustion engine of a hybrid car does not directly turn the wheels into motion. The batteries do the job. What the engine can do is either to charge the batter or to directly energize the electric motor. It is still under wraps, and first car of this type may be released sometime in the future.

The Facts about Hybrid Cars

Here at HybridElectricCarz.com we know that a hybrid car is a complicated machine. For instance, it has a start-stop system. In regular car models, the gasoline is used up even when the car is not moving but its engine still on operation, a condition called idling. This usually happens at traffic stops, waiting for a passenger to aboard on the parking lot, and etc. In start-stop system, it uses electricity instead of petrol each time the car is idling. This improves the overall efficiency and minimizes carbon emission.

The hybrid car uses regenerative breaking. Regenerative braking is a system that uses the energy dissipated when the vehicle is stopping, and stores it to energy storage for later use. With this system in place, it is possible for the battery to be charged when the car is in use. In effect, it costs less money for car owners as they don’t have to park their cars electric charging along the road.

Hybrid Car: A Dream come true

At the start of the century, people are becoming more aware of the impacts of human activity on the environment. Threats of global warming, climate change, and air pollution fill in the airwaves and newspaper headlines. World leaders are also expounding on the importance of taking care of the planet. So much so that there are now monumental documents about environmental protection being put forward, like Kyoto Protocol.

Nowadays, car companies are pitching in their help to the environment with the development of hybrid car. As it is, this vehicle is touted as the dream come true. For one, it provides people the means of transportation without worrying about the pollutants from car smoke mufflers. It is a great alternative to petroleum-powered vehicles that were in production for the past sixty years.

A hybrid car makes it possible for world with lesser carbon emission. Cars that are using fossil fuel as primary and only source of power for the vehicle are producing high levels of carbon to the air. On the other hand, the hybrid car is using electricity, hydrogen, natural gas, or other alternative energy sources to power the vehicle. The carbon content of the exhaust would therefore be minimized.
