The video in the article is an outdated version, it shows the Tesla model S ALFA reveal - almost 1 year ago, the Tesla factory have 1-3. October 2011 showed a BETA version of the car - lots of videos from that event on both vimeo and youtube.....
Anyway they have also announced a sports version acceletating from 0-60 in just 4.5 sec. - also remember this is a single speed car, no gearshifts nessesary to reach 130 mph - regular gas cars have always gearshifts (manually og automatically)
Under the bonnet is also a extra cargo space, so you have both in front and in the back :)

even though the concept of these cars a good one, the abiltiy for a mechanic to work on it is not, and parts can be very tricky and expensive to get hold of

First Escape model was introduced in 2000 as 2001 model, and it was priced below Ford Explorer, which at that time amused me because i loved it from the time i saw it. It is also known as Ford Maverick in Europe.

I have heard good and bad things about hybrid cars, mainly based on what is used for fueling them.
For instance, a hybrid hydrogen car kept constantly failing, while a hybrid methane car almost never failed (it just behaved like a regular car..).
But I believe that electric cars are the future, only if we can find a better battery solution than what exists today.
